
COMPETITOR INFORMATION
How to get to Start/Finish
To start of MTB Long course (Smaills Beach): Travel east along Andersons Bay Road. Veer right into Queens Drive after BP Service Station. Turn left into Victoria Road at roundabout. Follow Victoria Road up hill past cemetery and veer right into Tomahawk Road. Follow Tomahawk Road into Tomahawk and over the next hill down into Smaills Beach. The car park will be signposted from Tautuku Fishing Club.
To start of MTB Short course, and run & walk courses (Allans beach); Travel east along Portsmouth Drive, and turn left into Portobello Road. Follow Portobello Road down side of harbour to Portobello. Turn right into Allan’s Beach Road and follow over hill to Hoopers Inlet. Turn left at intersection and drive around left side of Hooper’s Inlet to the end of the road at Allan’s beach. The car park will be signposted at Allans Beach.
To finish of all courses (Natures Wonders, Taiaroa Head): Travel east along Portsmouth Drive and turn left into Portobello Road down side of harbour to Harrington Point (approx 2km from Taiaroa Head). Follow the road up the hill, and follow the signs to the carpark allocated at Natures Wonders. Please take care on this road and drive slowly as it is a narrow road.
Return Transport
We are offering return transport from Natures Wonders (end of race) to either Allans Beach or Smaills beach. There is a cost of $10.00. If you require this service, please tick the transport box on your entry form.

Confirmed entry
Your entry will be confirmed when it is posted on the www.otagopeninsulachallenge.co.nz website, on or before the 27th of January
Race Packs and registration
Registration will be at R&R Sport, 70 lower Stuart Street, Dunedin. Race packs will include your race numbers, race rules and updated information.
Briefing
Approx 30 minutes before each event at the start point of each event - all participants must attend.
R&R Sport bike mechanics
Will be riding the course and will offer assistance if required but you must carry your own basic bike maintenance equipment.
First Aid (Red Cross)
Will be available on course if required and at the finish line.
Prizegiving
Will be at Natures Wonders at approximately 3pm. Be there to win a GT Mountain bike worth $2000!
Food and refreshments
There will be hot food, drinks and snacks available to purchase at Natures Wonders at the race finish. Don't forget your wallet.
Alternatively you can pre-order a lunch pack. This will be a healthy lunch pack and will include a filled roll, muesli bar, drink and fruit. The cost is $10.00. Please indicate on your entry form if you would like to pre-order.

Gear list
The Otago Peninsula is extremely exposed in places, and weather conditions can change rapidly. It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you take the following equipment:
Bikers: Wet weather jacket, thermal top, drink and snack food, tube, tyre levers and pump
Walkers/Runners: Wet weather jacket, thermal top, drink and snack food.
There will be drink stops provided for each event, please see the maps in your race packs.
Prizes
There will be lots of Spot prizes and 10 pairs of Asics (use logo) Running shoes to be won! There will be money prizes for first place getters in the mountainbike and run events and trophies for placegetters. All competitors are eligible for spot prizes and for the major spot prize of a GT Mountainbike worth $2000.
